The Selecter DJ Kirk's got that mod swagger only someone who's been around the block a couple times in a vintage Vespa or Porsche rocking Fred Perry would have...and a distinctive taste in soul music to match; humble, aspirational, but always classy. I remember finding a kindred spirit in Kirk (or was it the Ng Ka Py Chinese whiskey?!) the first time I played at Sweater Funk, San Francisco's all vinyl boogie and modern soul weekly, when it was still at Li Po Lounge in Chinatown. He still continues to be an ambassador of soul music, both old and new, to both old and new listeners, collectors, and connoisseurs...from the Bay Area to Macau.

Mr. Fives, Concrete Jungle, Soul It's The Real Thing, The Revival, and of course, Sweater Funk, not to mention his forays in the coffee world with Special Xtra and Vega, are people and projects collectively associated to Kirk; the kind of community and collaboration we envision our new direction as Society to be all about.
